Hi, I'm Rachel; Wife, Mom, Licensed Nurse, and creator of High Country Organics.

Several years ago, despite using expensive creams, my skin remained dry, flaky, and irritated. As I searched for answers I was introduced to the idea of using natural oils. I was excited about the thought of ditching the chemical laden products in my cabinet for all natural options. However, I still hesitated and clung to the belief that oil equals breakouts. After doing thorough research and reading countless reviews about the benefits of tallow and other natural oils I took the leap and purchased products from a wonderful company based in the south. I was pleased to learn that natural oils are not the pore clogging enemy I believed they were!

Although I did see improvement in my skin, I still battled it being dry, dull and flaky. I realized that I needed to create a product that was specially formulated to stand up to the harsh Colorado climate I lived in. So, I began creating my own tallow creams. After working through multiple formulations I landed on a product that nourished my skin in ways I never thought possible!

My love for all natural products only continued to grow. I wanted to make sure our family was using only the best, most nourishing ingredients, so I began making some of our other favorite store bought products as well.

What started as a personal journey to improve my skin turned into a passion, and I wanted to share the magic of all-natural products with others!

Launching High Country Organics has truly been a labor of love. From endless hours of research, sourcing quality ingredients and experimenting with numerous formulations, to teaching myself how to design labels, build a website, set up business accounting, take photographs, market and manage social media, I created this company from scratch.

My husband and 3 kids cheered me on every step of the way. They gave suggestions, tested and evaluated products and designs and gave me much needed encouragement in times of doubt and overwhelm.

Every product that we create is a product that we use in our own home. We would never sell a product we wouldn't use ourselves.
